Thurs 17 July - on the hottest day of the year so far (25 deg at midday), Jeremy did CES 8 (with Andy helping from mid session), and Jerry did rb2 (with help from Andy to start, and Leanne to finish). Sun on the nets, plus some gardening activity, must have reduced the CES catch, in addition the Berberis growth (long overdue for a trim) made it impossible to set this net to its full height (Jerry cut it back at the end of the session). The CES total was 45 + (6) - just short of the year's highest catch on CES 7, although the 20 Blabi ringed was a new day max, and the Goldc was the first of the year. In rb2 the catch was 31 + (9), made up mainly of Reewa - almost all of which were juvs.
| Star bird you ask? It is when it is a record catch!! |
The day totals are below:
| Speices | CES | RB2 | Total |

| Robin | 6 | 1 | 7 |

| Garwa | - | 1 | 1 |
| Reewa | - | 20 (6) | 20 (6) |
| Sedwa | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| Greti | (1) | - | (1) |
| Chaff | - | 1 | 1 |
| Bullf | 3 | - | 3 |
| Reebu | - | 2 (2) | 2 (2) |
| Sonth | 1 | - | 1 |
| Blabi | 20 (2) | - | 20 (2) |
| Total | 45 (6) | 31 (9) | 76 (15) |
The day total was also just one short of the highest of the year, also set on the day of CES 7 (92 v 91) and you would have to think if we could get all three sites running that we would surpass 100 birds ringed with a total catch of 125. If that doesn't get you up to the lake, i don't know what will...
