2014 CES 7 and RB2 4

CES 7 and RB2 4 were undertaken on Sunday the 6th of July. Jerry was in RB2 and commented as below:
Perfect weather conditions on arrival, soon changed to the sun breaking through, and a light breeze from mid morning, though the catch was probably not affected. The forecast showers for mid morning didn't arrive, and it remained dry for the whole session. I had a reasonable catch in rb2 of 33 + (7), the majority of Reewa were 3JPs, with just one that had progressed to 3P. There were also a good number of Reebu (mainly 3JJ), and most were caught before 0700, a second retrap male Cetwa was caught (originally ringed in 2010).
Carlton and another new recruit Elinor, his daughter, were in the Garden doing the CES. A good catch, with a very good number of Blaca and a Misth being the second of the year and only the third since 2010. Carltons comments were as follows:
Nothing much other to report, other than the weather was just about perfect in the garden and that Elinor really enjoyed her visit, she now has a trainee permit and will officially join the group shortly, she was particularly impressed with ringing her first misth.

All in all a very good day. Misth are as rare in the nets at the lake as White, (Please click to see) so that is a good species to get on your first ringing visit to the lake! Further visits are planned this week, including a roost and a morning visit at the third of our main sites at the lake, a different location in the reedbed.
