An "Eight Warbler Day" in rb2

Jerry had a shortened session in rb2 on 2nd July - the early finish because showers were forecast for late morning. A strong breeze billowed the newly set nets, but this quickly calmed before strengthening again towards the end of the session. The overcast conditions keeping the temperature about 10 degrees down on the previous two days. Catching was relatively quiet until about 07.30, but picked up during the next two hours. A total of 48 + (15) birds were caught, and Reed Warblers were poorly represented, though three more recaptured adults were added to our RAS. Detailed list for the day -

The "ditch net" again contributed much more than its 30' might suggest, with about half of the Willow/Chiffs, two of the Whitethroat, the retrap Cetti's (X789016) - extending the longevity record a bit further, and a few other odds and ends. The YTD total at the end of June stands at 848 ringed.
