Quiet attempts at targeting thrushes

Jerry had two poor catches on 9th and 14th, totaling just 7 + (8) birds.
Numbers picked up on Sat 15th when Gareth and Carola caught 21 + (7), although they had a net at the nyger feeder (gn3a) most birds were in nets 4-7. A small party of redpoll and siskin (5 of each) in gn7 boosted the numbers and, despite playing a tape for redwing at nets 4/5, the only redwing caught was at the nyger feeder.

On Sun 16th, Jerry and Amy (with brief visit from Carlton and Ben) had an better catch of 18 + (27).  All but a handful of birds being in the gn3 (adjacent to the seed feeders), and comprised mainly Blue Tit (but with a poor showing of young birds).
The House Sparrow total was only a few short of the day maximum - if only a couple of the five same-day recaptures had been new birds !!

Species summary - 2 Wren, (2) Robin, 2 + (1) Dunno, 2 Blabi, 1 Redwi, 6 + (23) Bluti, 2 + (7) Greti, (3) Treec, 9 Housp, 1 Chaff, 5 + (6) Goldf, 4 Grefi, 7 Lesre, 5 Siski
