Promising start to November

Jerry managed to fit in a couple of visits between periods of wind and rain, he had an afternoon session on Tues 4th, and a morning session (with Andy & Leanne) on 5th. Neither resulted in particularly large catches, but the 11 + (9) on Tuesday included two more Blackcap (most unusual to be catching them so late), and the Group's 4th Fieldfare. A female Sparrowhawk carried a partly eaten Starling into gn4, and when Jerry did the next round, she was standing in the net lane "wondering how to retrieve her meal", but then flew down the net lane and away into the field. Wed's catch was a disappointing 5 + (4), but (presumably) the same Sparrowhawk flew through, so the chances of catching her on a future visit are good. Species were Wren 1 + (1), Blaca 2, Robin (3), Dunno (1), Redwi 2, Sonth 1, Field 1, Bluti (3), Greti 3 + (2), Lotti 1 + (2), Chaff 1, Lesre 1, Bullf 2 + (1) and Goldf 1.
