AGM, a garden feeder session and DemOn update

On Sunday 16 March, we held our AGM at Pennorth Village Hall, attended by 7 members. Following the meeting George, Ron, Peter, Andy (with Cheryl) and Jerry spent a couple of hours completing the dead hedging around our CES site. Although the lake level had fallen by a couple of feet, the ground conditions were still very wet and muddy. Hopefully it will dry out in time for the CES season. On Monday 17th, Andy tried a few quiet hours at the Pennorth feeders. He had a catch of 16 + (8), made up of Dunnock 1, Coal Tit 1 + (1), Blue Tit 7 + (5), Great Tit 2 + (1), Long-tailed Tit 1 + (1), House Sparrow 2 and Goldfinch 2. The most interesting was one of the Great Tit, ringed as a chick last year in the rb1 woodland.

Tony received further batches of (historic) recoveries this week, which suggests that more of our historic data has been uploaded to DemOn. When Peter checked, it appears that all of our data is now on DemOn, with some 100,000+ records. We believe we are the first ringing group to have managed to have achieved this.
