CES 2 & and nest box checks

Alan L did his usual strim of the net lanes/paths - earlier than usual because of the growth, and Andy raked away the cuttings. All in good time for Carlton to do CES 2 on 16 May. It was a sunny day, which probably reduced the potential catch to just 7 + (9). The totals were - Wren (2), Dunnock (2), Blackbird (1), Blackcap 2 + (2), Garden Warbler 1, Sedge Warbler 1, Chiffchaff 1, Great Tit (1), Blue Tit (1) and Bullfinch 2. A check of some of our nest boxes added a further (2) Blue Tits, and two broods of Great Tit (6 and 8) were ringed. The day total was 7 + (11) adult and 14 pulli.
