Andy tried the jetty on Friday 30th August, for a productive (late season) session, ending on 33 + (5). His catch comprised mainly Reed Warbler, but included a few Sedge. In contrast, George was in rb2 on Saturday, and with a very misty start, he caught just 6 + (1), before opting for an early finish. Highlight of his catch must have been our first Marsh Tit of the year. The final rb2 visit of the year was on Saturday 1st September, and with a light breeze (so no mist), Jerry and Kim had a catch of 18 + (4), made up mainly of Sedge Warbler and Chiffchaff. The mix for the three sessions was - Wren 1, Robin 3, Cettis Warbler (1), Reed Warbler 20 + (7), Sedge Warbler 14 + (1), Blackcap 4, Chiffchaff 7, Willow Warbler 2, Blue Tit 3 + (1), Great Tit 1, Marsh Tit 1 and Treecreeper 1.
During August we ringed a total of 774 birds, making the YTD (at end of month) 1691.
Canada Goose 5275992 was ringed on 26 June 2016, and this lucky individual had its ring read (most recoveries are shot) on 29 August 2018 at Stretton Sugwas, Herefod - 794 days, 37 km, 63 degrees
