CES 8 and the Jetty

CES 8 was completed on Saturday 23 July by Jeremy (with help from his
son Robin).  Some Song Thrush and Blackbird have started to appear in
the nets, suggesting their second breeding attempts have been more
successful than their first.  The highlight of the 34 + (4) catch was a
juvenile Whitethroat - our first of the year (and presumably from one of
only three territories around the Lake).  The species mix was:

Robin 4 + (1),

Wren 4 + (1), 

Blackbird 3, 

Song Thrush 5, 

Blackcap 3 + (1), 

Whitethroat 1, 

Chiffchaff 3, 

Reed Warbler 3, 

Blue Tit 1, 

Bullfinch 6 + (1) and 

Reed Bunting 1.

Jetty. (Sunday 24th) Carlton and Andy - Bonjour Phragmite de joncs.
Although the forecast did not give rain until the afternoon the overcast sky
on arrive did not look promising and intermittent showers started from 08.50
until 10.30.
Nets were up at the jetty form 06.20 to 10.30 and produced 9 + (3), with the
highlight being a control of a french ringed adult Sedge Warbler - species
were -
Sedwa. 2 (1 control, Museum Paris ring no. 7447707).
