Another Blackcap Session produces some quality birds

On Sat 6 Aug, Jerry netted gn4 - 7 again, for a modest catch of 23 + (9). The tape wasn't playing until 6, and the first couple of hours were fairly quiet, but 10 birds in the 9.30 round suggested that some new Blackcap were passing through. When leaving in mid afternoon, more warblers were seen moving along the hedgerows, than at any time during the morning ringing session. The "quality" birds were another young Whitethroat, and the year's first (probably only) Willow Tit. The rest of the catch was made up of Chiff 2 + (1) (but no Chiffchaff tape playing), Treec (1), Robin 1 + (2), Reewa (1), Blaca 16 + (2), Bullf 1 + (1), Sonth (1) and Blabi 1. Jeremy arrived around mid morning for a couple more hours cutting the willow on rb2.
