First Session of 2014

On Tues 14 Jan, the water level around the hut had fallen by about 6", but the net lanes were still flooded, so Andy and Jerry had a couple of hours at Pennorth.  Andy had moved his different feeders around a bit, which resulted in a greater variety of species caught (relative to the previous visits), with fewer Blue Tits.
In a couple of hours they had caught 21 + (3) birds, made up of
1 Robin,
8 + (1) Bluti,
1 Greti,
5 + (1) Chaff,
3 + (1) Goldf and
3 Housp.

The Chaffinch had been ringed in the previous winter, and as its tarsus was scaling, the ring was removed.  The various "Record Type" codes don't seem to include one for removing a ring, unless a replacement is fitted.
