Early September - scrub taping

As soon as the last CES visit was completed, Andy was straight into "taping" in the scrub area on Tuesday 1st. This first catch was promising, with a good number of Blackcaps. His 23 + (2) was made up of Robin 1, Blackcap 14, Chiffchaff 5, Goldcrest 2, Blue Tit (2), and Great Tit 1.

Jeremy was next to try on Thursday 3rd, with an early (pre dawn) start. He was a tad disappointed with his catch of 18 + (4), made up of Wren 1, Reed Warbler 1, Blackcap 6, Chiffchaff 5 + (1), Goldcrest 1 + (1), Blue Tit 1 + (1), Great Tit (1), and Goldfinch 3.

On Saturday 5th, Jerry was back in rb2 and had a very similar catch of 20 + (1). The mix was Robin 1, Cettis Warbler 1 + (1), Sedge Warbler 7, Reed Warbler 6, Blackcap 1, and Chiffchaff 4. A useful catch to finish off the rb2 season, and the site was closed down until next June.

Scrub visits then became less frequent, but Andy was there on Tuesday 8th (for a short session, after the rain had passed), with a reduced number of nets, and a reasonable total of 25 + (2). His catch was dominated by the target warblers, and comprised Dunnock 1, Blackcap 8, Chiffchaff 13 + (1), Goldcrest 2, Blue Tit 1, and Great Tit (1).
