Colour-ringed Mediterranean Gulls

Four colour-ringed Mediterranean Gulls were recorded at Sennon Cove, Cornwall, during our recent trip to Nanjizal.

(HGB)389199 an adult with red/white (HJNI) right leg was ringed as a chick on 05.06.2011 at Szegad, Csongrad-Csanad, Hungary, and was seen at Sennon on 16/10/2022 - 1945km, 292degrees, 4141 days. This bird has been recorded in most autumns on the Hayle Estuary, Nr Penzance.

The other three birds were all ringed as chicks at Polder de Sebastipol, Barbatre, Vendee, Pays de Loire, France on 25/06/2022 (all three birds had the metal above the "knee" on the right leg).

(FRP)FS108624 with a green/white (R3VU) left leg, was seen on 16 & 17/10/22. This bird had previously been seen in Finistere, Bretagne, France on 09/08/22

(FRP)FS108370 with a green/white (R8PE) left leg, was seen on 17/10/2022. First sighting.

(FRP)FS108697 with a green/white (R8UL) left leg, was seen on 16/10/2022. First sighting.
