Andy managed two more "winter ringing CES" sessions after the Avian Flu restrictions were lifted. On 13th he had a catch of 28 + (9), while on 21st it was a more productive 40 + (17) .
The species mix for the two sessions was Robin 2 + (2), Dunnock 4, Coal Tit (1), Blue Tit 27 + (12), Great Tit 7 + (8), Long-tailed Tit 1 + (1), Nuthatch (1), House Sparrow 11 + (1), Goldfinch 3, Chaffinch 2, Greenfinch 10, and Brambling 1.
On 22nd Jerry put a net up at the hut feeder for a couple of hours for 12 + (17) - made up of Blue Tit 6 + (15), Great Tit 1 + (2), Chaffinch 3, and Siskin 2. He has finally finished his "squirrel proof" feeder cage so it may be a while before the birds get use to it.
Sedge Warbler ANH2149 was ringed (by GMA) age 3 on 24 Aug 2019 and was caught at Tour aux Montons, Donges, Loire-Atlantique, France on 27 Aug 2021 (sexed as F) - 234 days, 519 km, 171 degrees
Mute Swan Z243794 was ringed (by JR) on 30 Jan 2012 age 5 (one of the last Swans to be ringed by the Group) and had its ring read (by Mark Waldron) at the Common on 27 Dec 2021 - 3619 days
Blackbird LB21902 was ringed on 10 Aug 2107 as 3JM and had its ring read (by Mark Waldron) in the Llangasty car park on 7 Jan 2022 - 1611 days (also reported there on 6 Dec 2020)
