Final visits to Reed bed sites

On Monday 7th, Rachel and Jerry were in the garden, for what seemed like a quiet morning, but the birds kept "ticking over" to end on 25 + (2). The mix was Wren 1, Robin 1, Dunnock (1), Song Thrush 2, Blackbird 1, Blackcap 6, Chiffchaff 7 + (1), Goldcrest 3, Blue Tit 1 and Goldfinch 3.

On Wednesday, Jerry was at the jetty where it was quiet - you know its time to close down a site, when you resort to trying to encourage a Great Tit into the net to boost numbes. The mix was Sedge Warbler 1, Reed Warbler 4, Blue Tit 4, Great Tit 1 and Reed Bunting 2.

Thursday saw Andy having a final attempt in rb2 with 15 + (8). In the afternoon, Jeremy tried the garden for a few hours, for a disappointing 5 + (4). The day catch was made up of Robin 2 + (3), Wren (1), Cettis Warbler 1, Sedge Warbler 1, Reed Warbler 7 + (3), Blackcap 1, Chiffchaff 2 + (1), Blue Tit 2 + (2), Long-tailed Tit 2, Treecreeper (1) and Reed Bunting 2 + (1).
