CES 7 and RAS visit

The 5 mile restriction on movement was finally lifted on 6th July, so on Tuesday 7th, Carlton did CES 7 in the garden, and Jerry did a RAS visit to rb2. Conditions were "perfect" - calm and overcast, though it got a

bit breezy from mid morning, and the garden was a bit "disturbed" by strimming, and then a bonfire, from mid morning. The CES total was 32 + (5) - a decent catch, but well below the average for visit 7. It included a Spotted Flycatcher recently fledged from the wood store nest. The RAS total was 30 + (7), and included a brood of 5 Redstart, 2 young Cettis Warbler and 2 more Reed Warbler for our RAS. The combined species mix was Wren 3 + (1), Dunnock 4 + (1), Robin 1, Redstart 5 (pulli), Song Thrush 1, Cettis Warbler 2, Willow Warbler 1, Chiffchaff 6, Blackcap 6 + (1), Sedge Warbler (2), Reed Warbler 14 + (5), Spotted Flycatcher (1), Coal Tit 1, Blue Tit 2, Great Tit (1), Treecreeper 2, Chaffinch 1, Greenfinch 1, Siskin 4, Bullfinch 5 and Reed Bunting 3.
