First Jetty "overnight" Session

Jerry prepared the jetty site on the evening of 17th June, and set the nets for a couple of hours before dusk. The top two panels were a bit breezy (with no shelter from the reduced reed growth), so the modest catch of 12 + (3) was expected. Only a handful of hirundines put in a roost appearance, which might have boosted the total. In the morning the breeze hadn't eased, and the sun came out quite early, so Jeremy had an even smaller catch of just 6 + (5) (most in his first hour). The species mix was Blackbird 1, Reed Warbler 10 + (8), Blue Tit 2 and Reed Bunting 5.
