CES 4 & an (old) Canada Goose recovery

George and Ron completed CES 4 on Sunday 3rd June. It was sunny (which affected the catch), and with only one juvenile (a Blackbird), the total was just 5 + (10). However, this is not the lowest for session 4 - there have been three lower (lowest 8). The species mix was Robin (1), Blackbird 1 + (2), Dunnock (1), Wren (1), Cettis Warbler (2), Blackcap 3 + (2), Great Tit 1 and Bullfinch (1). A check of some of the Group's nestboxes added 35 pulli to the day total - Robin 3, Redstart 7, Pied Flycatcher 15 (in 3 broods) and Blue Tit 10. We have just received the report of Canada Goose 5257843, which was ringed on 4 July 2010, and shot nearby at Tregoyd, Brecon on 26 Sept 2013. 1180 days, 13 km, 28 degrees.
