The total was just 14 + (1), made up of 2 Wren, 1 Robin, 7 + (1) Reed Warbler and 4 Sedge Warbler.
The August total was 446, making the YTD 1653. The month's total is the lowest of the last ten years (though only just short of the total for five of those years), and well below the 1038 in August 2012.
On Thurs 1 September, Jerry was joined by Andy (early) and Peter/Ted (later) for an early start for Blackcap. Conditions were good (though a bit sunny from mid session) and the catch of 22 + (5) was much better than recent CES sessions - (what a difference the tapes make).

On Friday, Ruth and Jerry returned, but few new night migrants had arrived (just one day after the new moon date, with dark cloud cover overnight, so not too surprising).
The total of 13 + (3) was made up of 1 Dunnock, 1 Robin, 1 Blackbird, 2 + (1) Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, 3 Willow Warbler, 2 + (1) Long-tailed Tit, 1 Marsh Tit and (1) Bullfinch.
