Nest Box catch up

Jerry went back round the boxes on 22nd, to catch up with those broods that were too small to ring on 18th. It was a bit showery, but luckily he had finished by the time some very heavy downpours arrived in the afternoon. In total he ringed 24 Bluti (3 broods), 22 Greti (3 broods) and 5 Nutha (1 brood). It looks like the "tits" are having a good breeding season, with large brood sizes, and there are still several nests not yet hatched. The migrants (Redst and Piefl) are likely to be ready in another 1-2 week's time.

As things stand, and taking the (very good) first two CES totals into account,  it appears to be shaping up as a decent breeding season, with decent numbers of adults on course to produce lots of young. With the feeder totals good over the winter could we be in for a bumper year!
