Recent Recoveries

Canada Goose 5257895 was ringed as a gosling at the Lake on 3 July 2011, and has been seen (and and had its ring number read) at Caerphilly Castle several times - last reported in our blog Wednesday 28 February 2024. Although it has previously been seen with another LRGp ringed bird, it now has an unringed mate (and 3 goslings),seen on 14 May by Andrew Bevan, of Fledgemore Nest Recording Gp - 4699 days, 39 km, 177 degrees.

Reed Warbler ANH2087 was ringed as a juvenile in rb2 on 20 August 2019, and has been caught at Cors Dyfi NR, Powys on 18 May 2024 - 1733 days, 85 Km, 328 degrees.

Siskin BNA2738 was ringed as a 1st year male on 6 March 2023 at Llangadfan, Powys, and was caught at Pennorth during the winter project visit on 16 February 2024 - 347 days, 86 km, 173 degrees.

Curlew FJ06156 was ringed as an adult male, with colours NW(18) (right above ) and O (left above) on 20 January 2018 at the Gann Estuary, Dale, Pembroke. The colours were read by Peter while it was on the point on 27 February 2024 - 2229 days, 134 km, 81 degrees. This bird was first seen at Llangorse in March 2019, and again in February & March 2020, as well as sightings at the Gann during winter 2019/2020.
