Gareth completed the second CES session of 2018 on 13 May. Conditions were dry, calm and mild, but very sunny. The sun shining on the nets throughout the session is likely to have been the cause of a very quiet morning. However, this gave a good opportunity to check all nest boxes. Gareth was joined by Jerry at around 09:30 to assist with checking the more distant boxes from the ringing area. A good number of boxes have been occupied by redstart, with some pied flycatcher also taking residence. A redstart was heard singing intensely near the GN7 net for the first half of the session (but was not caught).
The total catch ended on 9 new and (12) retraps, made up of:
Goldf: 4; Blaca: 1 (3); Dunno:1 (3); Garwa: 1 (1); Reewa: 1; Grefi: 1; Cetwa (2); Robin: (1); Blabi: (1); Bluti: (1).
