On Sunday 11th March, 14 members met up at Pennorth Village Hall for our AGM. The main topics of conversation were - submission of our historic data (1978 - 1994), our Blog, and Demon (the new online system for submitting data). The AGM had to be delayed for a week (because of the snow), and this was not the only casualty of the weather - a Song Thrush, RL67098, ringed as a juvenile on 23 July 2016, and was found dead (in poor condition) on 9 March 2018 at Llangynidyr - 594 days, 6 km, 169 degrees.
On Thursday 15th, Alan L and Ron met up at 21.00, to try lamping for Woodcock, on the fields around Llangorse village. They found one, but it flushed before they were in range to catch it. Other birds seen were two Owls (one a Barn Owl), and also had good views of Badger and Fox. When the rain started 00:30, they decided to call it a night.
