Slow Start to November

On Sunday 1st, Carlton had a session in the garden, it was very misty and he had a catch of just 4 + (4). On Tuesday, Alan L opened a couple of nets while he was working on the solar panels, it was a bit drizzly and he had an even lower catch of 2 + (2). On Wednesday, conditions were much better for Jerry, and there were groups of about 100 thrush (mainly Redwing, with some Fieldfare and Song Thrush), together with 300 Starling, in the churchyard and around the hedgerows, so the catch of 9 + (5) was disappointing. The weather forecast was then for spells of wet and windy weather (as several fronts were due to cross the country), and it looks as if there won't be any opportunities for netting for a week or so.

Wren 1 + (1)
Dunnock 3
Robin (1)
Song Thrush 2
Chiffchaff 1
Goldcrest 2 + (2)
Coal Tit 1
Blue Tit 2 + (1)
Great Tit (3)
Chaffinch (1)
Lesser Redpoll 3
Bullfinch (2)
