Highest catch of the year

Andrew and Jerry managed a session (between extended periods of wind and rain) on Thurs 24 Oct.  Catching was steady with a couple of "double figure" net rounds as the tit flock moved through.  The day ended on a very respectable 28 + (10), comprising mainly Long-tailed Tit, but with a handful of finches and Redwing.
Another lull in the weather on Sat 26 saw Jerry back, but with few Redwing responding, he switched tapes to Siskin at gn7, and Siskin/Redpoll at gn6. Catching was again steady, mainly finches, including the Group's second Common/Mealy Redpoll at 12.30 (which he kept for Carlton to confirm).

Common (Mealy) Redpoll

At 13.00 there were a handful of birds in gn6, and about 25 in gn7 - mainly Goldf and Siski, by the time this net was cleared, there were a further 25 in gn6 - mainly Lesre (incl a control Y741907).  Fortunately Carlton arrived to help, and in total, 60 birds were caught in the hour (incl 15 Goldf, 23 Siski and 19 Lesre).
Jerry departed after the birds had been processed, leaving Carlton to continue until dusk, though he had no further captures.
The session ending on 80 + (5), the highest total of the year so far, and a new record day catch of Siskin.
